About the Department

The Department of Pharmacology at Mata Gujri Memorial Medical College, Kishanganj, Bihar, is dedicated to excellence in medical education, clinical research, and pharmacovigilance. The MD (Pharmacology) program, established in 2011, offers a well-structured academic training aligned with contemporary standards.

The department provides high-quality CBME-based education to undergraduate and postgraduate students, with emphasis on rational therapeutics, drug safety, research methodology, and evidence-based medicine.

Pharmacovigilance Committee

In accordance with regulatory requirements for teaching medical institutions, the department maintains an active Pharmacovigilance Committee. The committee meets periodically to review activities and provide recommendations for strengthening drug safety initiatives.

Prescription Audit & Medication Error Monitoring

The department is actively engaged in prescription auditing and continuous medication error monitoring to promote rational drug use and enhance patient safety.
